Westside Gunn is certainly one of the most established rappers in the Hip-Hip world. Westside Gunn is also no stranger to controversy as he made headlines for associating with Marylin Manson. Now it seems the rapper got owned in a huge way recently.
Westside Gunn is also known to toot his own horn, especially when it comes to his fashion game. Before he made a name for himself working with Eminem and collaborating with Kanye West, Gunn called himself “Flygod.”
On Tuesday, Westside Gunn took to Twitter and posted a photo of Mr. T draped in his trademark gold chains. Gunn dissed Mr. T’s fashion sense and then compared his wealth to Mr. T’s.
The Diff between me and Mr T is My smallest chain cost more than all his shit#FLYGOD#GXFR#BUFFALOKIDS
Westside Gunn’s comments were met with a lot of backlash and criticism. Fans called him out for being ignorant and disrespectful to the world-famous actor and wrestler who remains a huge part of early pop culture.
Finally, Mr. T’s own daughter, comedian Erica Clark, took to Twitter and responded to what Westside Gunn said. Clark utterly owned Westside Gunn as she made it clear her father is a more accomplished man than Westside Gunn could ever be.
Difference is… All of it was real.. All of it was given to him All of it is his. He still has all of it.. And he was a movie star, TV star, commercial star with bedsheets. Pajamas, Lunch boxes, dolls, cereal, cartoons, Wrestlemania, albums… He’s my dad too
Eventually, Westside Gunn learned the error of his ways and decided to praise Mr. T as well. Mr. T’s contributions in various mediums cannot be understated. That is why those who try to insult Mr. T will be met with a lot of backlash, regardless of who they are.
