Snoop Dogg is a veteran in the Hip-Hop world and is considered as a collective “Uncle” by many in the Hip-Hop community. This simply goes to show how universally loved and respected he truly is. Now it seems Snoop Dogg admitted a major mistake he had made in the past.
Snoop Dogg being a veteran, is certainly not afraid to show his appreciation and give the rub to newer rappers of the Hip-Hop world. He has done so on various occasions throughout his career.
On the other hand, Drake is a veteran musician and that is exactly why younger rappers such as Kodak Black want him as a mentor. He also has a lot of interests outside of making music and that includes expanding his businesses.
While speaking to Complex, Snoop Dogg addressed his past comments, where he stated that Drake wouldn’t last long in the Hip-Hop industry. Snoop Dogg admitted that he was completely wrong in that thought process. Dogg even asked what was he even thinking when he said that.
“That n-gga ain’t going nowhere. What was I thinking? But that’s what we do in Hip Hop. We limit until somebody goes over the limit, and that’s what he did. That’s what Hip Hop is, to me. He probably took all that shit in when he was hearing all that about, ‘You’re only gonna be here three or four more years,’ and was like, ‘Alright, fuck that. Watch what I’m finna do.’
Drake was like], ‘I’m finna fuck these n-ggas up. Finna do some Michael Jackson shit.’ And he did that. All hail the king, you gotta give him his. He didn’t ask for it, he took that shit.”
Drake also recently sent out a tribute for Snoop Dogg as he makes sure to give respect to those who paved the way for him to succeed. It is great to see Snoop Dogg put so much faith in Drake as well. We will have to wait and see if the two will ever work together in the future or not.
