Eight-time Pro Bowler Von Miller has had an outstanding run as a member of the Denver Broncos. That run appears to now be coming to an end. A deal is being finalized that will send Miller to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for a pair of L.A.’s 2022 draft picks.
Adam Schefter has reported the trade on Twitter. He noted that Miller is now saying goodbye to his old teammates at the Denver training facility. Miller has been with the Broncos his entire ten-year career. Denver drafted him 2nd overall in the 2011 draft after a standout career at Texas A&M.
“Blockbuster: Broncos are finalizing a trade to send eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for two second-day 2022 draft picks, league sources tell ESPN. Miller is now saying his goodbyes to his friends in the Broncos’ training facility.”
According to Pro Football Focus, Miller has been the second highest graded defensive lineman in the league behind only Rams superstar Aaron Donald. Now, the two are teammates. It’s a dream defensive pairing for L.A.
Miller will make his debut with the Rams this week on Sunday Night Football. L.A. will take on the Tennessee Titans. The Titans will be without star running back Derrick Henry. Henry suffered a potentially season-ending injury this week.
The Broncos will pay $9 million of Von Miller’s $9.7 million per season salary. The rams will receive a second and third round pick in next year’s draft in exchange. The formidable Rams defense also includes cornerback Jalen Ramsey who joined the team in 2019.
