Marvel’s Eternals movie does not need a sequel, at least according to producer Nate Moore. Some fans of the movie might disagree with this statement.
While many assume that Eternals will receive a sequel like the rest of the MCU movies, Moore recently spoke with The Toronto Sun and indicated that there might not be a follow-up of its own.
It’s not something that is a must-have. Obviously, we have ideas of where we could go, but there isn’t a hard and fast rule where we have to have three of these things and this is the first.
Chloé Zhao’s Eternals is being released this week, the 26th movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film stars Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Salma Hayek, Brian Tyree Henry, Lia McHugh, Kumail Nanjiani, Don Lee, Barry Keoghan, Kit Harrington, and Lauren Ridloff.
It’s common practice for most MCU films to receive multiple sequels, but these new comments from Moore show that an Eternals sequel isn’t fully guaranteed, but also is not out of the question.
It’s been confirmed that the after-credits scene of Eternals reveals a lot about the future of the MCU, but there may be no major cliffhangers from the movie if they plan on moving on without a sequel.
