Steve Buscemi has doubled down on irony. This year, the actor made waves on social media by dressing up as his very own meme. Buscemi’s cosplayed in his “How do you do, fellow kids?” outfit for this year’s Halloween.
Buscemi was spotted in Brooklyn handing out candy to local trick-or-treaters. The outfit, which Buscemi wore in a season 6 episode of the comedy Thirty Rock, became a meme mostly used to mock people who are out of touch. Fans flooded Twitter with photos of the costume.

The meme has remained popular since its creation shortly after the 2012 episode. Buscemi apparently has embraced his memehood. As popular as it has become, there’s no reason for him not to own the character and the meme.
In the 30 Rock episode in question, Buscemi plays an undercover private investigator of questionable age sent to infiltrate a high school. The joke was that the character is completely out of touch. It became the perfect meme for the “OK, boomer” generation. Buscemi was joined in the television angle by series stars Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan.
The 63-year-old Buscemi has had a prolific acting career. Since his first role in 1985’s “The Way It Is”, he’s been an active and popular face in Hollywood. He’s won and been nominated for Golden Globes, Emmys, and Independent Spirit Awards. In 2014, he was named an Honorary Batallian Chief by the New York City Fire Department due to his history as a fighterfighter and renewed service during the September 11 terrorist attacks.
As a result of this epic Halloween costume, Steve Buscemi also trended on Twitter. It was a good time had by all, fellow kids.
