Lil Nas X Wrote Montero With The Assistance Of Psychedelics

Lil Nas X is currently one of the most highly-discussed rappers in the music industry, but not all of it is for reasons he would like. His latest “MONTERO (Call My By Your Name)” music video made him a huge subject of controversy as he could be seen giving a lap dance to Lucifer in the video. It seems he had an interesting method to creating MONTERO.

Boosie Badazz recently launched into a homophobic tirade against Lil Nas X, which certainly caused a lot of outrage. Boosie Badazz claimed to have international love and respect in response to the outrage.

In the end, Lil Nas X addressed the beef he has with Boosie Badazz, where he stated that he no longer has any interest in dealing with Boosie Badazz as it was tiring and not worth it.

While speaking with WSJ, Lil Nas X talked about creating MONTERO. The singer revealed that he consumed psychedelic mushrooms during the process of creating the hit song.

“I was able to open up a lot. I was able to write actual stories about my life and put it into my music. I actually did that for the first time. It allowed me to push past lots of lingering feelings of self-consciousness.”

The rapper’s unorthodox methods truly bore fruit as MONTERO became an instant classic and chart-topper for many. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for Lil Nas X, now that he is done with Boosie Badazz for good.
