Kid Cudi has a penchant for making style statements as he did that back in April as Cudi was seen wearing a floral dress during his “Saturday Night Live” performance. Kid Cudi also likes having very stylish nails, even if many don’t like him with that look. It seems Kanye West’s recent shoutout really had an effect on him.
Kid Cudi also believed that Kanye West would respect him for his Kurt Cobain tribute dress. After denying his involvement in the ‘Donda’ album, it was revealed that Kid Cudi did, in fact, collaborate with West on the album. Fans got a taste of his track during the second ‘Donda’ listening party.
Cudi and Kanye West’s friendship dates back to Cudi helping West work on his polarizing 2008 808s & Heartbreak album. They certainly have a lot of mutual respect as well.
While speaking with the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday, Kid Cudi talked about the time when he finally understood that Kanye loved him while he was at one of the darkest points in his life.
Cudi – ”My mom was visiting me. And [she] came up to me and was like, ‘Look at this.’ And it was Kanye in concert. I started bawling my eyes out. Like I just started weeping like a big baby. Because we had fallen out and there was beef. But that’s my brother. I just kind of realized in that moment … I realized that he really loved me.”
Kanye – ”The most important artist of the past 10 years. The most influential and I hope he’s doing well. I just want to this time out to say Kid Cudi is my brother. The most influential artist of the last 10 years and I hope he’s doing well tonight.”
The aforementioned concert took place on September 20, 2016, in Houston, Texas, as Kanye performed across the country on what might end up being his final run on the Saint Pablo Tour. It is certainly great to see how much love and respect the two artists have for each other and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
