After finally recovering from his ankle injury, LeBron James continues to experience bad luck. The Los Angeles Lakers star will now have to sit out at least another week. James is being bothered by an abdominal strain.

ESPN is reporting that the injury has ruled LeBron out for tonight’s game with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The source said that it’ll be at least a week before King James returns to the Lakers lineup. Lebron missed two games earlier in the young season because of the ankle issue.

“Lakers superstar LeBron James is expected to miss “at least one week” with an abdominal strain, a source told ESPN on Thursday.”

During Tuesday’s 119-117 victory over the Houston Rockets, LeBron suffered the abdominal strain. The team will now take their time with James to make sure he’s fully healed. This type of injury is very easy to reaggravate, so the best course of action is resting the muscle and letting it recover.

LeBron James will turn 37 next month. At that age, injuries are going to be come more common. Nobody can overcome the changes that happen to a human body. If he needs some time off, that’s what’s best for both him and the team.

James is averaging 24.8 points this season along with 7 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game. The 5-3 Lakers take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday and then return to Staples Center for a short homestand. They’ll take on the Miami Heat on Wednesday and the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.
