Ryan Reynolds recently announced that he was taking a hiatus from acting. While he’s away, fans will be able to get their fix with Red Notice co-starring The Rock and Gal Gadot. The actor says he’s got plenty to look forward to during his downtime.
The Deadpool star told HollywoodLife about his plans for the time off. He said he’s going to take it easy. He wants to enjoy quality time with his family while his kids are still young.
“Well I think my goal in taking a break is to spend as much quality time with my kids at this age as possible. That doesn’t mean I am retiring or anything crazy like that.”
Reynolds said he was missing his wife, Blake Lively, and the kids. The COVID-19 pandemic pushed a lot of his projects back that were supposed to be spread out over a longer period of time. Instead, he wound up working straight through.
“I just have been going back to back to back and the pandemic pushed everything together. I find that I am missing stuff and I don’t want to do that so just being home with my kids on the holidays with my wife and feeling at ease and relaxed and not feeling that I have work to do or something to study or get ready for or train for anything like that stuff. It is just nice to have a little time.”
Also in post-production for Reynolds are the movies The Adam Project and Spirited. Between those and Red Notice, it will be like Ryan never even left. Red Notice starts playing in theaters tomorrow and moves to streaming on Netflix November 12.
