William Lucking, who played Piney Winston on the hit show “Sons of Anarchy,” has passed away at home in Las Vegas, according to TMZ. He was 80-years-old at the time of his death.

Lucking was one of the staple characters on the show that aired from 2008 till 2014. He played Piney Winston, a member of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club and one of the club’s founders.

The cause of his death remains unknown as of yet. Sigrid, the actor’s wife of 25 years, wrote an obituary for her husband and referred to him as a “giant of a man with the soul of a poet.”

The show, which went on to become a cult classic, featured Winston (Lucking) as the oldest member of the biker club as well as its most senior adviser. Piney filmed the show while battling poor health. He was seen carrying an oxygen tank on the set to help with his breathing problems.
