Las Vegas Raiders’ former 1st-round pick Damon Arnette is currently in trouble with the law. This is because he has been accused of injuring a woman in a violent car crash last year. Despite this Arnette is determined to fire back at the allegations meted against him.
According to legal documentation obtained by TMZ Sports, a woman alleged that on October 14th of last year, Arnette slammed into her car with his vehicle at around 7:29 AM in Las Vegas.
It was said that Damon Arnette believed he missed his turn into the Raiders’ facility. Due to this, he turned at around 65 MPH in order to still make the right. The woman further alleged that the driver’s side of his car hit her driver’s side violently, leading to a lot of damage on both vehicles.
It was also claimed that Arnette “illegally left the scene of the crash” after that and headed toward the Raiders’ headquarters just a few feet away. The woman was said to have suffered several injuries in the accident, which includes head trauma, and is now dealing with shoulder, neck and back pain as well as depression and panic attacks.
She claims to have suffered damages worth more than $92,000. As revealed by police documentation, Arnette said he only left “because he was running late to a meeting at work.” However, he had a friend stay at the scene to provide his contact information to authorities. The friend tried t take the blame for what happened but police officers didn’t fall for it. We will keep you updated on this ongoing case.
