Teen Mom has documented Amber Portwood’s life for years. The domestic violence that her boyfriend endured is also well-known although some people trivialize violence on males. Her new Merch line seems to capitalize on domestic violence and is causing a stir among fans.
Amber has been on Teen Mom for 12 years. Fans are well aware of her lifestyle and behavior. She has been called out several times for being a bad mom to her children and her violent actions against her partners.
Fans called Portwood’s new merch line “tone-deaf” and “insensitive” as one of the prints show a woman holding a machete saying “I’ll Portwood your A**”. This is in reference to October 2019 when she pleaded guilty to two felony charges of domestic battery and intimidation,
Police said Portwood wielded a machete during an argument with ex-boyfriend Andrew Glennon, who was holding their 1-year-old son James in July 2019. She was sentenced to 906 days of probation.
On Teen Mom Season 2 MTV cameras caught her slapping, choking and kicking her ex-boyfriend Gary Shirley, in front of their infant daughter.
In response to the backlash she made a post of her Instagram saying there is no room for negativity in her “space” and that she does “not condone any sort of violence”.
