UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman is certainly one of the top fighters in the world and many consider him as the pound-for-pound world’s best fighter as well. He has competed at a high level for a long time now and always shuts up his critics. It seems Dana White had a huge claim to say about Usman recently.
Usman made his debut in MMA back in 2012 against David Glover, with the fight taking place in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance 5. Usman would get a second-round TKO win in the fight.
In the main event of UFC 268, Kamaru Usman defended his Welterweight title against Colby Covington. It was a rematch from their UFC 245 fight, which saw Usman win via TKO.
It seems history repeated itself as Kamaru Usman once again defeated Colby Covington. This time it was a close fight as Usman won via judge’s decision. All three judges scored the contest 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46 in favor of Usman.
While speaking at the UFC 268 post-event press conference, UFC President Dana White called Kamaru Usman the best welterweight of all time.
“[Kamaru] Usman is just, this guy is the best ever. He is the best welterweight of all time. He is on his way to possible GOAT status.”
Kamaru Usman previously stated that he is open to facing Nate Diaz in a UFC Welterweight Championship bout in the future. It remains to be seen what is next in store for Usman after his triumphant victory at UFC 268.
