Sarah Jessica Parker has slammed misogynist comments directed towards her and her “Sex and the City” co-stars over their physical appearances, according to Page Six.
Parker, 56, said she and her co-stars get frequently called out over their aging looks, adding that it’s something that would never happen to male members in the entertainment industry.
“There’s so much misogynist chatter in response to us that would never. Happen. About. A. Man.,” she told Vogue during an interview that would accompany her cover shoot for the magazine’s December issue.
She continued: “‘Gray hair, gray hair, gray hair. Does she have gray hair?’ I’m sitting with Andy Cohen, and he has a full head of gray hair, and he’s exquisite. Why is it OK for him? I don’t know what to tell you people!”
Female celebrities in Hollywood often face criticism over their natural looks, but Parker feels that the uncalled-for scrutiny over how actresses should look like has only increased with the use of social media tools such as Facebook. Instagram, and Twitter.
