So the Ben Simmons saga is turning into quite the series of repeat performances, or rather lack thereof, it would seem, as he continues to miss games. The NBA trade rumor mill is working overtime these days, perhaps many wanting to know just when the 76ers will be rid of this thorn in their side who just refuses to play.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN wrote in depth about what’s going on with the situation, the trade market itself still a ways off from coming to actual fruition. As we all know, it’s never too early to start a rumor, or to open discussions on the matter.

“The Philadelphia 76ers fined All-Star guard Ben Simmons his $360,000 game salary for missing Thursday night’s victory over the Detroit Pistons and plan to continue fining him until he cooperates with team physicians on his mental health and fulfills other basketball-related obligations.

He wasn’t mentally prepared to play and planned to seek professional assistance. (His) refusal to provide basic details of his course of mental health meetings, evaluation or treatments or to accept consultation with any specialists arranged by the team. The Sixers want a high-level player in return for Simmons, and that hasn’t been available yet in months of trade discussions.”

So they just continue fining him, hopeful for what end? many have asked. It seems as though he’s knocking those fines out of the park like Babe Ruth on opening day. Nothing will get this guy on the court and as we reported, fans and those in the head office for the 76ers are growing frustrated, with absolute reason.

Perhaps a tad less controversial is the situation regarding Karl-Anthony Towns over in Minnesota.

“There are those around the league who are watching his situation closely,” The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski reported:

“Towns has had six GMs and five head coaches since he was drafted No. 1 overall in 2015. The Wolves have made the playoffs just once in his time here. If you’re looking for the next star player to want to move, he would be high on a lot of lists. (He) has been adamant that he is on board and wants to be a part of the solution in Minnesota.”

This comes up because of a mysterious tweet by Towns, stating quite simply, “#FreeKAT.” This tweet coming after three straight losses, despite him doing rather well with the Timberwolves, and now many are wondering if he isn’t at all happy where he’s at at this point in his career, despite his professing that the aforementioned tweet, was the result of the hacking of his account.
