Kenneth Petty, the husband of rapper Nicki Minaj, says that the woman who accused him of rape was a “willing participant” in the act. This is a new development in this ongoing story for Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty.
Court documents obtained by AllHipHop show that Petty says that the incident, which occurred 25 years ago, was not rape, but rather consensual sex. Petty has continually denied the allegations.
“I never raped the Plaintiff and I deny her accusations of rape contained in the Amended Complaint. I also deny all of Plaintiff’s allegations in the Amended Complaint that I committed any improper conduct, sexual abuse and/or sexual assault. The sexual encounter between Plaintiff and I, which occurred 27 years ago, was consensual and Plaintiff was a willing participant.”
Petty said he did not force her into any situation. He said that his initial guilty plea was an effort to avoid a harsher sentence. He reiterated time and time again that nothing was forced.
“I did not force Plaintiff into a house, I did not force Plaintiff to have sex with me and I did not sexually or physically assault Plaintiff in any way. Nor did I ever threaten Plaintiff. I pled guilty to attempted rape, despite my innocence, because I was a scared 16-year-old kid and was told that my sentence would be 20 years to life if I did not plead guilty to attempted rape.”
Jennifer Hough is currently suing Petty and spouse Nicki Minaj for harassment. She claims the couple have been intimidating her so that she’ll take back the rape accusation against Kenneth. Her lawyer has even gone so far as to suggest that the couple has gang ties. Petty took a plea deal after being charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
Nicki has claimed that Hough is merely chasing clout with the lawsuit. The statement came after the couple failed to show up for court, resulting in a default judgement against them after Hough asked for a cool $15 million. The legal wrangling is still ongoing.
