WWE Hall of Famer and current Hollywood star Dave Bautista is a sought after actor in the business. Batista made a name for himself by portraying the role of Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy film franchise. Batista always wanted a movie based on his character but it never came to fruition, which Marvel didn’t really find any need in, much to Batista’s dismay.
On the other hand, Jason Momoa’s role as Aquaman/Arthur Curry received a tremendous reception, both critically and commercially. It was also touted as one of the best films produced under the DCEU banner. He also made a name for himself for the role of Khal Drogo in Game Of Thrones.
Since then Jason Momoa has acted in several movies and shows over the years, showcasing his prowess as an actor. The same can be said about Bautista. As reported earlier, a buddy cop movie starring Momoa and Baustia was finally in the works after a lot of speculation.
According to Deadline, MGM studios is close to securing a deal for Momoa and Bautista’s buddy cop film. It was said that both of them went “all over town” this week pitching the idea, which opened up a bidding war between movie studios.
The buddy cop movie is said to be similar to the Lethal Weapon series. It remains to be seen if MGM studios will pick up the film or not. Should they do, fans certainly cannot wait to see how the film will turn out to be.
