Former Raiders head coach Jon Gruden has dragged NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell into a lawsuit weeks removed from his ouster from the position.

According to ESPN, Gruden, 58, resigned from the top spot following an email leak that revealed he had used homophobic and sexist language back in 2011. He is now claiming he was “forced to resign” from his position as the head coach of Las Vegas Raider.

According to Las Vegas Review-Journal which reviewed the lawsuit, the disgraced head coach has accused the NFL management including Commissioner Goodell of trampling his career and reputation.

“Through a malicious and orchestrated campaign, the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell sought to destroy the career and reputation of Jon Gruden, the former head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

“When their initial salvo did not result in Gruden’s firing or resignation, Defendants ratcheted up the pressure by intimating that further documents would become public if Gruden was not fired. They followed through with this threat by leaking another batch of documents to the New York Times for an October 11, 2021 article.”

Gruden had released a statement following his ouster wherein he stated he didn’t mean to “hurt anyone.” He later claimed there was more the story than what was being told on the media.
