Lil Nas X Set To Appear On Maury Povich Show

Few rappers command attention like Lil Nas X. Now he is set to receive a much different spotlight.

Lil Nas X and ex-boyfriend Yai Ariza will appear in a drama-filled episode of The Maury Povich show. The show’s official Twitter account shared the trailer for the episode. On the show, the Old Town Road star discovers that his boyfriend is married.

“Me and Yai have been together for about a month and a half.”

The alleged wife fires back, calling Lil Nas X a liar. A whole “who’s the father” situation breaks out. Paternity testing ensues. It’s the classic Maury Povich formula. Chaos is sure to ensue to the delight of fans who love this sort of talk show drama.

The episode airs on Wednesday, November 17. In the tweet, no effort was made to point out that Montero who appeared on the show is actually a famous performer. The 22-year-old became a surprise hit in the music world and has since been a huge activist for LGBTQ+ issues.

Yai Ariza appeared together in the video for “That’s What I Want” back in September. The relationship came to an end by October. Lil Nas X told SiriusXM Hits 1 it was the best decision for his future.

“We were dating, and we are still on very good terms. You know, we may date again, I’m sure. I love him; he is amazing. I wanted to kind of focus on my music right now.”

Lil Nas X is a masterful promoter. It wouldn’t surprise anyone if he used the appearance as some sort of high-concept performance art to promote his next track. It is unknown when the episode was shot. You can check out the trailer for the episode below.
