Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Robert Woods suffered a season ending blow. Wood tore his ACL in practice this Friday and will miss the remainder of the 2021 season. ESPN reported that he will likely be out for the season.
Robert Woods is a team captain. He has never missed more than three games in a season due to injury. Apparently he went ahead, finished practice and conducted interviews with the media. Nobody thought anything wrong and then tests discovered later that he tore his ACL, per sources. According to Adam Schefter, it’s an isolated tear.
The Rams were hoping to have the best wide receivers on the field all together after they officially signed Odell Beckham Jr. on Friday. Instead, they’re stuck hoping the 29-year-old can make up for the loss of Robert Woods.
Much to Rams dismay who were expecting a high-powered offense led by quarterback Matthew Stafford. Woods’ injury leaves Cooper Kupp, the newly signed Odell Beckham and third option Van Jefferson as the only accomplished wide receivers on the roster for the remaining of this season.
The Rams are 7-2 and in second place in the NFC West division. Beckham, Cooper Kupp who is the team’s No. 1 receiver and Van Jefferson will be their starting trio at wide receiver against the San Francisco 49ers who are 3-5.
