Conor McGregor just wasn’t having it. He had fiery come backs to Chael Sonnen calling him a “Rich Weirdo.” The back and forth on twitter got intense and Sonnen warned him to stay off his radar before its too late.
It all started when Joe Sedano asked Sonnen for his take on the video McGregor posted of himself pacing around angrily in a room while watching his former opponent, Max Holloway, inside the Octagon. The video was quite weird and Sonenn said these juvenile antics don’t fit a husband and a father. He further warned that McGregor is turning into a a Rich Weirdo and if he doesn’t stop he might as well go down as one in the books.
“He’s being a weirdo. Is this what he wants as his identity? A guy walking around with his shirt off screaming at a television set. I mean, come on. In all fairness, when you were 22 years old that was one thing, but as a husband and a father, you’re a little bit of a dork.”
“Conor is on the verge of being a little rich weirdo,” “It’s the last thing I wanted for him but if you mark out for your own gimmick to this extent… He’s posting things, then he’s deleting them. I’ve got to give the troll effort 100%. As a former troll myself, I get it.”
“There’s talk of Dustin Poirier who has already smashed him twice. In all fairness, Conor is still a big draw, but he’s really working against himself.”
It is a known fact that McGregor frequently takes to Twitter to rip on several UFC fighters, only to delete the tweets shortly after. Sonnen noted that Conor’s online behavior has been worse since his July 2021 leg break courtesy of Dustin Poirier. Conor is still on the mend and isn’t expected to compete until late 2022.
Conor on the other end called Sonnen a “broke weirdo” when Sonnen asked Conor to stay off his radar and poked fun at his whiskey brand. Conor then clapped back with demeaning Sonnen’s profession as a commentator and retired martial artist.
The Notorious tweeted “Just set up the tripod, in the corner of your boxroom, and tell your 2 views the promo code for the window sheen“. The American Gangster is commentator for ESPN+ weekly series “The Chael Sonnen Show With Jorge Sedano,”. Sonnen asked this fighter to ” leave an apology” and obviously he didn’t get any except another sarcastic remark.
It seems like Conor is looking for drama and has a lot of time on his hands. He recently dug up Islam Makhachev’s old tweet from 2015 to recall his past twitter feuds.
