NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has cemented himself as one of the greatest players in basketball history. He is also a huge pro wrestling fan, having made appearances in both WWE and AEW. It seems Dwyane Wade has a high opinion about him.
As big a name O’Neal might be, he recently stated that he doesn’t consider himself a celebrity and prefers to keep his distance from that label at all times.
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Shaquille O’Neal are three major names when it comes to the all-time greats in the Miami Heat. Fans still debate who the greatest duo was in the team.
Wade and Shaquille O’Neal played for a brief run in 2006 that led to get winning a championship. Wade and LeBron teamed together to form the first super-team of the 2010s’ era, winning two championships.
While speaking with Kelly and Ryan, Dwyane Wade was asked who was a better teammate between Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James. Ultimately he chose O’Neal for an interesting reason.
“Shaq was a great teammate because I was young and nobody knew who I was. And Shaq grabbed me and was like Yo! Imma make you somebody. I was already somebody once LeBron came out.”
While he prefers O’Neal, that doesn’t mean he has any less love and respect for LeBron James. This is evident in the fact that the two are very close friends in real life and that is unlikely to ever change.
