18-year-old JoJo Siwa says her breakup with ex-girlfriend Kylie Prew happened ‘all of a sudden’ after less than one year of dating. JoJo appeared on Paris Hilton’s This Is Paris podcast where she confirmed that she and Kylie did indeed break up.
“I have yet to talk about this officially, publicly, but we broke up,” JoJo explained. Although she and Prew are no longer together, her ex is still her “best friend.”
JoJo told People on Friday, “I fell in love with somebody who I didn’t ever expect to fall in love with. We met on a cruise ship. She was my best friend. And then we went to Disney together, and all of a sudden … it kind of all happened.” Siwa emphasized that the October split helped her learn “to just trust life, and whatever’s supposed to happen is going to happen.”
Siwa introduced Prew to her fans in February, less than a month after confirming she’s a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Siwa, 18, still values her friendship with Prew, 17. “There’s days where I truthfully will cry, and the only thing that I will want is to talk to Ky and I will call and Ky will answer and it’s all okay,” she explains. “And there are other days where we don’t talk at all. And I think that either way, it’s okay. I think everyone’s life happens differently, but I’m really grateful that I’ve had Dancing with the Stars that I’ve had Dance Pop. It’s just kept my brain occupied and it’s kept my brain happy and healthy.”
“I have yet to talk about this officially, publicly, but we broke up,” Siwa said after Hilton asked about her love life. “But she is literally still my best friend. I talked to her yesterday, she just got a new puppy. She’s awesome. She’s having the time of her life, I’m having the time of my life.”
The Dance Moms alum introduced her fans to Prew in February, making their relationship Instagram official on their 1-month anniversary, shortly after she came out as a member of the LGBTQ community.
“I was in love for the first time,” she says. “It is such an amazing gift and something that I will cherish for as long as I live.” Though she isn’t looking for another date, the “Dance Moms” alum is in the market for a “cuddle buddy.”
“Trust me, I want to have a cuddle date,” she said. “So if anybody out there needs a cuddle date, cuddle buddy, I’ll take it. I talked to her yesterday. She just got a new puppy. She’s awesome. She’s having the time of her life, I’m having the time of my life.”
“I’m really lucky that I didn’t lose her completely because, you know, even though relationships end, friendships don’t have to end,” the current Dancing with the Stars contestant continued, adding that’s something that she “didn’t know could happen.”
We’re wishing both of them the best as they go their separate ways. At least it seems that they are still friends.
