The superstar trio will star in the upcoming Netflix special Jonas Brothers’ Family Roast on November 23. Kenan Thompson will host the show and the feature guest stars include Pete Davidson, Niall Horan, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, John Legend, Lilly Singh, and Jack Whitehall. The special list includes Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Kevin Jonas including their wives Priyanka Chopra, Danielle Jonas, and Sophie Turner, also Nick’s The Voice co-star Blake Shelton.
Jonas Brothers are a lot of things: siblings, bandmates, pop stars. One thing they are not, as John Legend sarcastically notes when he appears on their upcoming special Jonas Brothers Family Roast, is the Fab Four.
It starts with a touching tribute. “Working-class lives, growing up with the dream/They made a lot of money, made a lot of girls scream,” Legend sings on the piano ballad. Then there’s a kicker. “I wrote a song to tell them they’re my favorite band. I wish they could hear it, but they’re not here today, You’re not quite the Beatles.” He adds that they are “really nice guys,” to soften the blow.
Here’s what to expect: “Jonas Brothers Family Roast is one kind of comedy which is special for its epic proportions. It celebrates the universal truth that no one can get under your skin quite like your own family.” wrote Just Jared.
“You’ll see the multi-platinum global superstars, the Jonas Brothers like you’ve never seen them before. Through sketches, songs, games, and special guests all are gathered to give them a roasting they’ll never forget.” they added.
