Sunday night’s American Music Awards was a massive celebration of popular music. Cardi B hosted the event and flashed some memorable looks. She also got props from fans of the South Korean boy band, BTS.

Fans are saying that another star literally stole the show, however. Twitter went absolutely nuts after Doja Cat beat out Jazmine Sullivan for Favorite R&B artist. Many said that Doja shouldn’t even have been included on the ballot.

“Why did Doja Cat win over JAZMINE SULLIVAN and H.E.R. for favorite R&B artist….what R&B music does she have?”

“I love Doja Cat, y’all know I do but she’s NOT RnB especially when H.E.R, Jhené Aiko, Sza and Jazmine Sullivan are in the category

AND WHERE TF IS KEHLANI’S NOMINATION???!!”

“it’s not even anything against Doja, it’s more so the industry… nobody turns of her music & says this is R&B

that girl should NEVER be in categories w Jazmine, Giveon, Queen etc…”

The outrage came as fans saw the award as illegitimate. Most don’t believe that Doja Cat qualifies for the genre of R&B, let alone winning an award. She probably can’t be bothered to respond to the upset fans, as she’s busy polishing the trophy they believe she robbed Sullivan of.

Do you think Jazmine Sullivan was robbed by Doja Cat at the AMAs? Let us know in the comments!
