ABC’s Dancing With the Stars Season 30 finale aired on Monday, November 22, 2021. Season 30 of DWTS proved to be one of the most exciting seasons yet. From absolute wild cards to stunning performances, each week has proved to be quite the rollercoaster.
This season will also go down in history as the first season to have a same-sex couple, popstar JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson. The duo proved to be the ultimate threat, with their flawless performances every week. Dancing with Johnson truly helped Siwa get over the fear of being herself.
JoJo Siwa and her partner Jenna Johnson competed with NBA star Iman Shumpert and his partner Daniella Karagach, Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby and his partner Cheryl Burke, and talk-show host Amanda Kloots and her partner Alan Bersten for the Mirrorball Trophy. Ultimately, Iman Shumpert was crowned the winner, and Siwa’s fans thought that she was truly robbed of her crown.
Siwa explained that she always preaches having confidence but doesn’t practice it. However, DWTS helped gain this trait. For the season finale, Siwa and pro Jenna Johnson performed a Tango and Cha Cha fusion dance to I Love It by Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX. Then they performed a freestyle dance to Born This Way by Lady Gaga. Here’s how their performance went!
Fans took their frustration to Twitter after the season finale sharing how she was “robbed” of the Mirrorball Trophy. “When did I become a JoJo Siwa stan and why like I’m way too old for this but anyway jojo was robbed,” one person tweeted. Another wrote, “JoJo Siwa was robbed. That is all.”
Some people insinuated that something went down behind the scenes that caused Siwa’s loss. One person wrote about her freestyle, “I’m CRYING this performance was SO good that JoJo Siwa SHOULD have won dancing with the stars 2021. She was def robbed.” A fan tweeted, “@itsjojosiwa You and Jenna were robbed!! Knew there was no way they would have a same sex couple win the Mirrorball! So sad as y’all were the BEST!!!! My wife and I enjoyed watching u all season!”
Well obviously, fans are upset about the travesty that went down on DWTS. They came back with hope and I left again with despair.
