Jon Jones is currently working on fixing his image as a fighter. While he parted ways his former team, he started training out of his garage. The MMA fighter who recently announced his return is itching for a fight. Jake Hager of AEW was potentially in a match up with him, which the AEW superstar denied.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, however, says that he’s all for a match against Jones. Miocic spoke to Ariel Helwani at the MMA Hour, where he talked about his plans as he recovers from the loss he took against Francis Ngannou.
Miocic aims to get another match with Ngannou, making it a trilogy for them. However, he is not opposed to facing Jones when he fights his return bouts as a heavyweight fighter in 2022. Miocic told Helwani:
I’m down. I don’t think he wanted it. I don’t know the whole story but I’m down. Then he wants a title shot. I know he’s done well, he’s probably one of the greatest of all time but you’ve still got to wait your order. That’s like me going to light heavyweight and being like I want a shot.
Stipe Miocic added that he is willing to fight, but he really wants another shot against Ngannou. He said that it was his belt that Ngannou took from him, and he wants to do everything in his power to get it back.
I’ll fight anyone like I always say [but] I really want that trilogy fight. That [title] was mine. I want it back. Definitely get a trilogy [in 2022]. Get my shot back at the title. Get my belt back. Back to normal. Everything’s back to normal.
Jon Jones is apparently being held by Dana White to get into a Triller match up. The MMA fighter was challenged to a “Loser Goes To Jail” fight. Jones is trying to overcome the allegations that his wife made on him for attacking her. He claimed that it was past trauma that led to his present legal problems.
