LeBron James’s contributions to the world of professional basketball cannot be understated. James suffered a serious injury to his right ankle in the Lakers’ game against the Atlanta Hawks back in March. Even after coming back, James has never been the same. It seems Shaquille O’Neal has an interesting take on LeBron James’ latest incident.
LeBron James finally made his return during the Lakers game against the Detroit Pistons. Unfortunately, his return did not pan out the way he expected as James was ejected from the game. This is because a huge brawl broke out after James accidentally hit Detroit forward Isaiah Stewart.
This resulted in Isaiah Stewart bleeding heavily from the eye after getting elbowed by LeBron James. Naturally, fans dragged LeBron James on social media for the injury.
While speaking on a recent episode of NBA on TNT, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal addressed the recent incident. O’Neal stated that while LeBron James is now a dirty guy, Isaiah Stewart did not overreact to James elbowing him in the eye.
“LeBron’s been in the league what 17. 18 years, he’s never been that guy. Now Stewart reacted like he was supposed to react. You hit someone in the face…I wanna fight you.
Somebody hit you in the face you either got to hit him back or act like you want to hit him back. There’s only two options.”
LeBron James even personally apologized to Isaiah Stewart after the incident. James was suspended for one game because of the altercation as well. It remains to be seen whether James will fare better in future Lakers games, as the team needs a lot of momentum right now.
