Dallas’ top wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was forced to leave the Cowboys’ loss to the Chiefs after suffering a concussion just before halftime. CeeDee Lamb will be benched for the Cowboys vs Raiders match on week 12. Dallas Cowboys will be down two wide receivers this Thursday afternoon.
CeeDee did not practice for two days however, he did log a limited session on Wednesday. CeeDee’s return to practice on Wednesday gave hope that he could be cleared from the concussion protocol. Everyone thought he would play in the Cowboys vs Raiders annual Thanksgiving home game.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that Lamb was not able to get the green light for his game. The Cowboys will have to play the Thanksgiving special without him.
Amari Cooper still remains in the COVID-19 protocol. The Cowboys will be starting with Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson, Noah Brown, and Malik Turner at wideout. Amari and CeeDee will remain benched.
Despite the bad news at receiver, the Cowboys will be be getting a big chunk of meat in their offensive bone. After missing the last three games with an ankle injury, left tackle Tyron Smith is set to play. Even with a limited practice session on Wednesday, Lamb ultimately could not clear the NFL’s concussion protocol.
Dak Prescott’s fantasy upside is definitely hurt but Michael Gallup’s boost as Dallas’ top receiver is tempting. Fantasy managers might toy with the idea of playing Cedrick Wilson as a flex. Dalton Schultz is also going to see some additional targets with Lamb out.
