LeBron James finally made his return during the Lakers game against the Detroit Pistons. Unfortunately, his return did not pan out the way he expected as James was ejected from the game. This is because a huge brawl broke out after James accidentally hit Detroit forward Isaiah Stewart.
This resulted in Isaiah Stewart bleeding heavily from the eye after getting elbowed by LeBron James. Naturally, fans dragged LeBron James on social media for the injury.
Even Shaquille O’Neal stated that Isaiah Stewart’s reaction to getting hit by LeBron James was not an overreaction whatsoever. O’Neal added that James wasn’t a dirty guy as well.
James made his return from suspension as he helped the Los Angeles Lakers defeat the Indiana Pacers. It also featured James having to hecklers removed from the game as well.
While speaking to reporters after the game, LeBron James addressed his suspension after accidentally injuring Isaiah Stewart. James stated that he believes he shouldn’t have been suspended for his actions.
I think it warranted an ejection because of what happened after that. You know, with me still in the game and excitement from the fans and what could possibly happen after that, obviously, but a suspension, I didn’t think it was warranted.”
I knew right away I had caught some part of his head, so I went over to apologize to him and, obviously, you guys see what happened after that.”
LeBron James even personally apologized to Isaiah Stewart after the incident. Now that James is back, we certainly hope the Los Angeles Lakers will be able to gain some momentum again after their latest win.
