Anthony Davis seems to be one of the most frustrated players with the recent displays from the Los Angeles Lakers. They returned home to suffer a disappointing loss to the Sacramento Kings in triple overtime. It was a disappointment to say the least.
The defeat was another reminder that this team has a long way to go in order to reach contender status. While Davis was upset with the outcome, he seemed confident. He said that the Lakers will be able to rip off a winning streak and turn their season around.
“But it’s on us, we’re gonna have to do it and it’s not gonna be easy,” Davis told the press after their loss to the Kings, via LakersNation, He also said that it makes it all worth it in the end when you got to grind for it and work for it like they have to. He mentions that the trophy at the end of the year is going to feel a lot better.
Davis’ confidence seems to stem from his faith in the roster that was put together as well as their defensive potential. He seemed confident about winning 10-12 games in a row. He said that they can do it and they have got the drive to make it happen.
A double-digit winning streak would sure go a long way in re-establishing the fans’ confidence in the team. More realistically it is hard to see given their struggles on both ends of the court. Committing on the defensive side of the game which they are massively lacking in can come in clutch later.
The Lakers would play the Detroit Pistons next. It will be a great test of the players and the team as a whole. This would be a huge opportunity to turn back the tides for good this time.
