Nate Diaz remains one of the most legitimate fighters to have ever stepped foot inside the Octagon. Diaz last competed against Jorge Masvidal for the “BMF” title at UFC 244 back in November 2019. He lost the match via doctor’s stoppage, but he is far from finished in the fight game. Diaz also has lofty ambitions after retiring from MMA.
At UFC 263, Nate Diaz finally made his return to the Octagon as he squared off against Leon Edwards. Unfortunately for Diaz, his return didn’t quite go the way that he wanted to as Diaz lost the fight. Nate Diaz had also made it clear that he wants to compete in the Octagon again within the next three to four months.
Many fans also wonder what will become of Nate Diaz in the UFC as he only has one more match left in his contract. Currently, his future in the company remains uncertain.
While speaking to Kristine Leahy, UFC President Dana White was asked about Nate Diaz’s future in the UFC. Dana White made it clear that he isn’t sure yet but also hinted at the fact that Diaz might be too old to compete now.
“I don’t know, that’s up to him [if Diaz fights in the UFC again]. Everybody starts to get old and this isn’t a place you stay forever. This isn’t a job, this isn’t a career, this is an opportunity.”
Conor McGregor previously stated that a third fight with Nate Diaz must happen at some point. We will have to wait and see when Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz will duke it out in their third fight together in the future.
