During the latest Busted Open Radio show, Mark Henry shared how he has nothing but praise for the opening segment of the November 24 edition of AEW Dynamite. It featured CM Punk and MJF exchanging words during a battle of wits for close to 20 minutes. He thinks it was one of the greatest promo segment of all time.
“There will never be another promo like that one. That was a special moment that we will never see again Our kids may see one but that was one of the most special wrestling moments in the history,” Mark Henry crowed. “I have seen great promo artist, Roddy Piper, Ted DiBiase, The Rock, and you can go into hundreds of guys that we thought were pretty good on the stick, but never has there been two guys at the same damn time have a battle of wits that will equal, that touched on things that were so real,” Mark further added.
Mark mentioned how people go to wrestling because of how they feel and not because they just want to be entertained. There is true life, emotional investment. They want to feel it. That’s one reason why AEW is so popular right now. The crowd feels they have a role in what they are seeing and they absolutely do.
“8 mile didn’t have anything on that on Wednesday. You cannot tell me that you have ever two human beings go back and forth like we saw,” claimed Mark when he was talking about how he has watched all of the rap battles back and forth. Mark adds that the match entertained him as much as the promo.
