After Jodi Weatherton made her win on The Challenge: The Duel, she returned to screens for the first time joining the cast of All Stars season 2. The show is now three episodes into the season on Paramount+. After the third episode, Jodi revealed why she wasn’t able to compete on the first season of the spinoff show.
Jodi appeared on MTV’s Official Challenge Podcast to open up about the reason why she got dropped. She told Tori Deal and Aneesa Ferreira that she was interested in appearing on All Stars. She was officially called by the casting team. Mark Long called her back in the summer of 2020 to pitch the OGs project.
When she was ready to get on board, she got another call from the producers, who informed her that the background check would take 23 to 30 days because she lived in Germany. The background check company was strict on their formalities. She was finally told that there wasn’t be enough time to process her and get her on the show.
Jodi explained that she was heartbroken when she found out she couldn’t go. It was a depressing time back then with lockdown and curfews. “We were deep in the pandemic over here, super locked down, no stores were open,” she said, adding that they had a curfew and could only have one family member over. She really looked forward to it because of those hard times but eventually the excitement ended in despair.
Jodi revealed that she was called for season 2 on her birthday and she was very excited to return. New episodes of All Stars season 2 will drop on Paramount+ every Thursday.
