John Cena‘s Peacemaker character doesn’t like playing second fiddle in the DC Extended Universe. In a new clip for his upcoming series based on the Suicide Squad character, Cena is in the hospital. He tries to explain that he’s a famous superhero. Things don’t go as planned in the hilarious video.
The clip is filled with f-bombs as it is revealed that a trailer for the series will be dropping on December 3. It originally was posted to the show’s website, PeacemakerIsComing.com. The video stresses the very adult nature of Cena’s superhero character, if it wasn’t obvious in “The Suicide Squad.”
The series will debut on the HBO Max streaming service on January 13, 2022. Cena was lauded for his performance in the film, leading many fans to anxiously anticipate the release of the spin-off. They’re really leaning into the comedic aspects of the character in the teaser.
After a legendary career as a professional wrestler for WWE, Cena decided to take his shot as a Hollywood leading man. After some cameos and smaller roles, he dazzled DCEU enthusiasts when “The Suicide Squad” released over the summer. Now, he’s got the chance to carry his own franchise.
The sixteen-time world champion of wrestling is hoping to follow Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson from the squared circle to acting stardom. John Cena has appeared in advertising and television as well as many other forms of media. He’s a household name. Now, he’s trying to take it to the next level.
While we’ll have to wait a few more days for the full trailer, this is an enticing taste of what’s to come. Cena is perfectly cast in the Peacemaker role. This may be the most anticipated DCEU show of all time, and it’s all on the back of the performance of The Champ.
