Chris Cuomo will be off air indefinitely over his efforts to protect his brother. Newly released evidence shows purported texts Chris sent to people on Andrew Cuomo’s team in the middle of his sexual harassment scandal.
Earlier, Chris admitted to the network that he’d offered advice to his brother’s staff. This was obviously against the rules and CNN publicly acknowledged it. However the new documents show a far greater involvement which was previously unknown.
Apparently, Chris Cuomo was reaching out to his media industry sources to get ahead on who else might be coming forward with allegations against his brother Andrew. Chris was revealed to have texted about specific accusers, including Anna Ruch, who accused Andrew Cuomo of kissing her at a wedding.
On October 28, 2021, a spokesman for the state court system announced that Andrew Cuomo would be charged with a misdemeanor sex crime in Albany City Court. The new transcripts were released by the New York Attorney General’s office on Monday.
The complete statement from the CNNPR is shown below. It says that the New Attorney General documents “shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense. The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions”.
