Jen Shah’s “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” audition tape may deliver some karmic justice. Her claim of $50k monthly spending from the audition footage came back to bite her in a new Hulu documentary.

In the documentary, Shah’s Bravo audition tape was examined by crime experts who wonder why the funding of her lavish lifestyle wasn’t questioned before she was arrested by the feds earlier this year.
Shah was first arrested on March 30 and federally charged for her alleged crimes, along with her assistant, Stuart Smith. According to a press release from the Department of Justice U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York, Shah was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering through an alleged telemarketing fraud scheme.
Shah pleaded not guilty in April. Her Next trial in New York federal court is scheduled to take the stand in March 2022. Shah’s lavish lifestyle was flaunted throughout the first season of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.” Her Bravo profile teased: “Always decked out in designer brands, Jen loves to host parties and spares no expense — it’s important to her that everyone knows she is the best host in Utah.”
In her interview with “Access Hollywood” in November 2020, Shah revealed where she got the money to fund her expensive tastes, “I own three different marketing companies,” she said at the time. “We do lead generation, data monetization. So it’s customer acquisition.”
