DaBaby has had trouble keeping the public’s attention on his music recently. He’s had some domestic issues. He’s also got several HIV/AIDS organizations calling him out. He has ghosted them since promising to learn more and help their causes after a homophobic rant at Rolling Loud.
Despite pressure to cancel him, DaBaby’s music career is doing just fine. He flexed his Spotify “Wrapped” statistics on Instagram. The comment accompanying the screen shot said “my cancelled ass.”
DaBaby hit nearly 3 billion streams on Spotify in 2021. 146 unique listeners checked out his music. They spent 126.9 million hours listening to DaBaby songs. Those fans came from 178 countries.
After his controversial comments, DaBaby met with several LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS groups to discuss how he could make things better. All parties involved reported a productive meeting. This week, it was revealed that he has not kept his word about his offers to help.
DaBaby doesn’t seem to care, though. He’s back in the good graces of Rolling Loud, promoting his Live Show Killa Tour with the group. He recently released a new EP. He’s expected to drop a full-length record in 2022.
DaBaby isn’t the only celebrity who faced cancellation to have success. Dave Chappelle continues to be very popular. After allegations of transphobia in a stand up special, Chappelle continues to operate as normal.
