Eminem is Detroit through and through. It reflects in his music, his style, and his support for the community. Now, the world’s most successful rapper is even hooking up his hometown hockey team.
After last night’s 4-3 shootout victory over the expansion Seattle Kraken, Shady’s restaurant, Mom’s Spaghetti, made sure the hometown heroes were taken care of. In a video posted by the team’s dietician and retweeted by the club’s official Twitter account, Red Wings players can be seen enjoying their spaghetti in the locker room.
“Thank you @momsspaghetti for fueling our post-game meal tonight! And back-to-back wins”
Eminem opened the restaurant to much hype and fanfare back in September. He even showed up to serve fans their food on opening day. Now, Mom’s Spaghetti is creeping into the sports world.
Commentator Mickey Redmond recently shouted out Slim Shady during the broadcast of a Red Wings game with the Chicago Blackhawks. Eminem is a hero in the D, just like their athletes. His spaghetti treat certainly got a better reception in the Motor City than Big Sean.
Eminem broke out in the late 1990’s to become an unexpected phenomenon in the rap world. Along the way, he even made a cameo in a famous Korn video as he tried to get himself noticed. Now, he’s not only the heart of the city of Detroit, he’s also keeping their stomachs full.
