Tyra Banks is getting replaced. After months and months of viewers expressing discontentment, executives at Dancing With the Stars are finally searching for a replacement for Tyra Banks as the show’s host.
Ratings for the show have plummeted since Banks took over. However, the big guys behind the screen blamed the talent pool instead of Tyra. Now, producers are scrambling to find someone else to take over the hosting duties for next season.
Fans have replacement ideas ready to go. They have rightly included several former professional dancers and alumni from the show. The top picks came from a couple of different Reddit threads.
First up are the dance couple, Allison Holker & Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss. TWitch has been the on-stage DJ for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” for over 500 episodes. He also eventually became an executive producer on the hit show. Besides being a pro partner on “Dancing With the Stars” for four seasons, Allison also has hosting experience HGTV’s “Design Star Next Gen” and “Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings”.
Mario Lopez & Jeannie Mai are the next choice. Apart from being DWTS alums, Mario has been a host at “Access Hollywood” since 2019 and before that was at “Entertainment Tonight” for 15 years. Jeannie has been a co-host on “The Real” since its inception in 2013 and has also hosted for “Entertainment Tonight” and “Holey Moley”.
Other notable mentions were Kym Johnson Herjavec & Anna Trebunskaya and Karina Smirnoff & Lacey Schwimmer. Whereas, “Dancing With the Stars” winner Alfonso Ribeiro remained a divisive choice for a solo host.
