Guardians Of The Glades Snake Hunter Dusty Crum Nearly Loses Leg In Car Accident

Dusty Crum, star of Discovery’s “Guardians of the Glades,” had a big scare recently. The famed snake hunter was involved in a serious vehicle accident in Florida recently. He nearly lost his leg.

Dusty told TMZ that he was riding in a truck down a Florida highway last month. The truck blew a tire and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck fishtailed and then rolled over three times.

Crum said the accident left him with severe damage to his right leg and knee. He was taken to a Fort Meyers area hospital. Doctors performed five different surgeries to save the outdoorsman’s leg.

When the car rolled, Dusty’s window broke. His leg fell out of the now-open window. It was crushed by the vehicle’s immense weight. As the vehicle continued its series of flips, he was able to get his leg back inside.

Crum believed he was going to die at the scene. He prepared a makeshift tourniquet to stop the bleeding. He struggled to maintain consciousness while he waited for medics to arrive.

He’s been in the hospital for nearly four weeks. Dusty Crum says he is hoping to start rehab in the next few days. A GoFundMe was set up in his name by a friend for those who would like to help with his medical bills. Get well soon, Dusty!
