NFL Fines Jaleel Johnson For Tearing Off Zach Wilson’s Helmet

Jaleel Johnson was fined for roughing the passer penalty last Sunday. It proved to be a costly infraction for Texans defensive tackle Jaleel Johnson.

Jaleel Johnson was flagged for roughing the passer penalty. He ripped off New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson‘s helmet during last Sunday’s 21-14 loss.

According to a league source, Johnson has been fined $6,056 by the league office for the rule violation. Johnson immediately threw up his hands after taking Wilson’s helmet off right in front of the officials as a yellow flag was thrown.

Johnson finished with four tackles, while Wilson was 14-of-24 for 145 yards and an interception. In eight games this season, Johnson has 16 tackles and a quarterback hit.
