Tom Holland is currently one of the most hyped up heroes in the MCU. Being the Spider-Man, Holland has been part of many iconic moments in both the Avengers and his standalone projects. While Spiderman: No Way Home is on its way, Holland is eying more roles to play within the MCU.
Holland is apparently of the belief that despite being the face of Spiderman currently, he should allow other versions of the character take over. Instead, he wants a more didactic role, similar to what Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark was to him.
I love this character more than anything. It’s changed my life. I have a relationship with my fans that’s so wonderful, I couldn’t ask for it to be any better. But I wanna do what’s best for the character. If it’s time for me to step down and the next person to step up, I’ll do so proudly… I’d love to see a more diverse Spider-Man universe which would be really exciting.
The MCU actor added that if he could pick a role for himself, he’d like to play Iron Man to never versions of Spider-Man or Spider-Woman. However, he said that his current focus remains to be Peter Parker. (https://www.topskitchen.com)
If I could be a part of that, I could be the Iron Man to the next young Spider-Man or Spider-Woman, that would be great. But at the moment, all I have to think about is the character and what’s best for Peter Parker.
Tom Holland’s dream to play the next Iron Man might be a stretch. However, he’s already inked a deal to play Spiderman in the upcoming trilogy. With Sony’s Venomverse and Marvel’s Spiderverse both being upcoming ventures, Holland might get a didactic role in the series later on.
Holland wouldn’t literally like to be Iron Man. Instead, he wants to carry on the legacy of Tony Stark and be the one to lead and guide the next generation of heroes.
