Kyrie Irving is certainly one of the best basketball players in the NBA. The Brooklyn Nets star might also retire as well due to his refusal to adhere to the COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Due to his refusal to get vaccinated, Kyrie Irving could miss up to 45 games this season.
From the looks of it, Kyrie Irving couldn’t care less about missing out on the seasons as even his coach has accepted that fact. Irving was put on blast for it and heavily criticized by several people, including former NBA players such as Raja Bell.
Kyrie Irving also recently took it upon himself to shut down all retirement rumors. Even Chance the rapper seemingly agreed with Kyrie Irving’s anti-vaxx stance for some reason. He even got support from Floyd Mayweather of all people.
While speaking Brandon Robinson of Bally, Brooklyn Nets’ legend Kerry Kittles talked about Kyrie Irving’s absence due to his refusal to get vaccinated. He then explained why the Nets need Irving to make his return.
“No they need Kyrie, they definitely need Kyrie. I just think it just puts too much pressure on those two guys. I think in this era nowadays you need three stars, you definitely need three high caliber players that can control the game with the ball in their hands”
It was said that Kyrie Irving is unlikely to play this season unless he is traded to another team. The Nets are in first place right now but it remains to be seen if Kevin Durant and James Harden will help the team stay on top or not.
