Jacqueline Avant, the wife of legendary music executive Clarence Avant, was fatally shot by a home invader. The shooter was then subsequently arrested as well. He was caught just an hour after the incident had taken place.
According to a report by TMZ, Jacqueline Avant’s family currently believes that she was awake at home the intruder shot and killed her. Clarence was in the other room sleeping when the shooting occurred.
It was said that while Clarence was still sleeping last week at their Trousdale Estates home, his wife was already up just after 2 AM in the other room. It was said the suspect unexpected met Avant, which led to him firing on her.
It was said that security was patrolling the front of the house and the suspect seemed to have entered from the side yard. When a guard heard gunshots, he ran inside and then the suspect fired at him too before he fled the scene.
The suspect in question was identified to be Aariel Maynor. It was alleged that Maynor was trying to do another burglary in the Hollywood Hills, where he apparently shot himself in the foot.
Maynor has since been charged with murder, attempted murder, felony with a firearm as well as 2 counts of residential burglary with a person present. He is scheduled to undergo foot surgery on Wednesday and will not be arraigned until after that. We will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
