Kyrie Irving is certainly one of the best basketball players in the NBA. The Brooklyn Nets star might also retire as well due to his refusal to adhere to the COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Due to his refusal to get vaccinated, Kyrie Irving could miss up to 45 games this season.
From the looks of it, Kyrie Irving couldn’t care less about missing out on the seasons as even his coach has accepted that fact. Irving was put on blast for it and heavily criticized by several people, including former NBA players such as Raja Bell.
Kyrie Irving also recently took it upon himself to shut down all retirement rumors. Even Chance the rapper seemingly agreed with Kyrie Irving’s anti-vaxx stance for some reason. He even got support from Floyd Mayweather of all people.
According to Bally Sports, sources close to Kyrie Irving claim at he lied about his logic as Irving didn’t want to be called an anti-vaxxer. Instead of that, Kyrie simply doesn’t trust the vaccine and just refuses to take it entirely.
“Those closest to him also have shared that Irving knows anything he says will be magnified and scrutinized and he doesn’t want to be viewed as an anti-vaxxer. He’s not taking this stance to be a voice for the voiceless. He’s just not trusting of the available vaccines, according to sources.
Irving also does not want to get vaccinated because of bad experiences with his health due to basketball injuries over the years.”
It was also reported why The Brooklyn Nets really need Kyrie Irving. It was said that Kyrie Irving is unlikely to play this season unless he is traded to another team. The Nets are in first place right now but it remains to be seen if Kevin Durant and James Harden will help the team stay on top or not.
