Roddy Ricch has joined some very exclusive company. The Compton rapper has finally hit 10 million singles sold in the U.S. for his album “Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial”. The diamond certification places him right up there with superstars like Kanye West, Eminem, and Drake who have previously achieved the amazing feat.
“The Box” reached the milestone. The 2019 hit topped the charts. On Monday, it finally earned Roddy his first diamond certification. He celebrated on Instagram at a ceremony attended by the rapper and some friends, according to HotNewHipHop.
“Yeah. Yeah, n*gga… 10 of them bitches, n*gga,”
The dinner was organized by the Recording Industry Association of America. Roddy Ricch was obviously excited about reaching the milestone of being a ten-time platinum selling artist. Now, he can be mentioned and the same breath as so many great rappers before him.
Ricch hopes to follow up this monumental success story soon. “Live Life Fast,” his second full length album, is set to drop on December 17. Roddy says he wants the album to bridge the gap between his old fans and the ones who came after his huge breakthrough single.
Roddy says the new record will be solid from top to bottom. He said fans don’t need to worry about skipping a single track. Time will tell if he can duplicate the success of his first effort.
