Flavor Flav ‘s Domestic Violence case is all wrapped up. The rapper can finally breathe the air in relief after almost 3 months.
TMZ reports that the rapper’s misdemeanor domestic battery charge was dropped, and Flav pleaded no contest to one count of coercion. He was fined $640 and will not serve any jail time.
The Public Enemy rapper was arrested in his Nevada home after police responded to a domestic disturbance call. The unidentified woman accused Flavor Flav of poking his finger on her nose, grabbing her, throwing her to the ground, and then taking a phone out of her hand.
The news came during a time when Flavor Flav celebrated one-year of sobriety from alcohol. Flav’s attorney firmly believed in him at the time as he said the truth will be revealed in court.
His attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, told TMZ, “Today the domestic violence charge against Mr. William Dayton (Flavor Flav) was dismissed. Mr. Dayton acknowledged the nonviolent act of grabbing a phone during the incident in question, a misdemeanor, and the case was closed by the court”.
“Mr. Dayton and his family are grateful to bring an amicable close to this matter and appreciate everyone’s support as he continues his one-year journey of sobriety.” The lawyers added. Its good to see the controversy reach a peaceful close. We wish Flav all the best in his journey to continuing sobriety.
