Hugh Hefner Screamed At Holly Madison Over Cutting Her Hair

Holly Maddison has spoken about her time at the Playboy Mansion where she was the girlfriend of Hugh Hefner. The 41-year-old, who dated the late Playboy mogul between 2001 and 2008, revealed that he “screamed at her” after she had her hair cut short for a new style.

In a teaser clip for upcoming A&E docuseries Secrets of Playboy, Holly describes the reaction of Hugh, who died in 2017 at the age of 91, to her new hairstyle. Heff said it made her “look old, hard and cheap.”

Holly moved to the infamous mansion in August 2001 when she was still a teenager. The then blonde-haired 19-year-old soon became Hefner’s girlfriend and they stayed together for the following seven years.

In 2008, Holly revealed that the relationship was over after Hugh admitted in an interview that he couldn’t see them getting married as he hadn’t had much luck with marriages and didn’t see how this would be different.

“I got to a point not too far into my time there – I think I was only six months in – where I kind of broke under that pressure and being made to feel like I needed to look exactly like everybody else. “My hair was really long naturally and I was just like, I’m gonna go chop my hair off so I can at least look a little different.”‘

Holly said that Hugh was not happy with the change and “flipped out” when he first saw it. Thinking back at her decision to go to the Playboy house and be affiliated with the brand, Holly said that in hindsight it was a “dangerous choice.”
