It’s a race against time as construction continues on the massive stage inside the Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles for Kanye West’s Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert, with special guest Drake, on Thursday.
According to TMZ a crew consisting of more than 200 people has been working nonstop to complete the largest-ever “environmental experience.” The event comes with an estimated budget of $10 million, which counts for production costs, stage construction, event staff, security, and more. Ye and Drake have been reportedly rehearsing at an off-site location, but will hold a dress rehearsal before the final event.
The upcoming benefit concert marks West’s first headlining show in five years and Drake’s first public performance since the tragedy at Astroworld. The two squashed their beef after a meeting was arranged by music executive James Prince back in November. They announced their reconciliation on Instagram after photos and videos of them together were posted online.
Drake and Ye were bonded by their common belief in the clemency of Larry Hoover. J. Prince helped Drake realize that the opportunity to come together was bigger than their differences, and would ultimately build towards a greater cause.
The Free Larry Hoover benefit concert will stream live via Amazon Music, Prime Video, and the Amazon Music Twitch channel. Following the live stream, the show will also be made available on demand. Fans can no longer contain their excitement as the rappers are coming together after their highly-publicized beef and we can relate.
